Those interested in employment at the facility may pick up an  application from the business office during normal working hours between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or use this link (application) to print out our application in PDF format, and return to us. The majority of the newly hired employees are filled within the facility as a part-time employee within the Nursing Department.  The union structure and contract then allows people to bid into job positions that are posted of various departments as they become available. If a job that is posted is not filled, then outside applicants are sought to fill this position.

Applicants who are applying for positions in nursing must have a current Michigan license (L.P.N.'s and R.N.'s) or a current Michigan certification (CNA's).  Applications are returned to the facility and when outside hiring is needed, interviews with the Administrator and appropriate Department Head are scheduled.  Company policy asks for a criminal records check and anyone with a felony charge cannot be considered.  Information on all applications is to be correct and to the best of your knowledge.  Once considered for the position, you must pass a routine physical examination, proving you are physically capable of completing the employment tasks you are hired for.

The Iron County Medical Care Facility is an Equal Opportunity Employer and one of the largest employers in Iron County.  We invest in our people.
Minimum wage rates discourage recruitment and retention of dedicated caring persons to provide the compassionate care our residents require.  We encourage our staff to consider their jobs a career, not merely a stop-over, thus, significantly slowing down the revolving door of staff turnover, which is disruptive to continuity as well as quality of resident care.  Our wage and benefit package is a
generous one and we feel our staff deserves it.
